(This might not be a problem of Glow itself but the green download box which is shared on different pages, I tried to look for a specific component in Bugzilla for but in vain so decided to file here as I just discovered this in Glow. Please feel free to move this bug to appropriate component if needed. See 996608 and 764261 for more background info.) Currently download box is linked to an old download page on mozilla.com.tw, this way provides only Firefox Taiwan version instead of Global's plain zh-TW builds so users have no chance to choose which version to download. I have to say that Mozilla Taiwan *does* provide plain zh-TW builds by putting an text link to alternative "Systems & Languages" page under download boxes, but this case should be considered by Mozilla's global webdev team when designing the action of the download boxes. (Probably we need a friendlier download selector?) This issue only affects to zh-CN and zh-TW locale where Mozilla is providing customized builds. But as China has its special Internet governing policy so I'm filing the bug for only zh-TW here, sadly.
The download green button on glow is very basic. It does not do anything different based on the users locale - it just links directly to: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/#download-fx We rely on that site's logic to do the right thing. I do not think there is anything to do here on the glow side but adding in pmac to advise.
Flags: needinfo?(pmac)
We'd love to get zh-TW content back on mozilla.org I believe, and I think we're close to being able to do that. It was forwarded to mozilla.com.tw a while back when we didn't the l10n capabilities that we have now. Hopefully we can do that. It'd be nice to fix the problems with mozilla.com.tw for now though. I'm not sure where to file bugs for that site. All download buttons on www.mozilla.org and webwewant.mozilla.org end up redirecting to mozilla.com.tw for zh-TW. But Ben is right that we don't do anything but point to www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/ from webwewant.m.o.
Flags: needinfo?(pmac)
Based on the above this looks to be an issue with the page webwewant links too not the site itself. I am moving this into the correct product / component.
Component: glow.mozilla.org → Pages & Content
Product: Websites → www.mozilla.org
we will put a global download link on the redirected page: http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/, so even users are redirected they can still have access to both global/local versions.
Added global version download link : http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/#download-fx
The current behavior is, while people been re-direct to this page[1] through webwewant download button[2], the browser will immediately start downloading installer of "Firefox Taiwan version", and a notice saying that: "Thanks downloading Firefox!(If you want global version please click "this link")" We Mozillians believe in Provide Choice, isn't it better to promote user the choice (which version you want), than just give and ask afterward (if you want another... please click here)? Adding Cmore and Kohei to this bug.
(In reply to elin from comment #5) > Added global version download link : > http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/#download-fx We are good now? For a zh-TW browser, webwewant.mozilla.org links to www.mozilla.org/firefox/new/#download-fx, redirects to www.mozilla.org/zh-TW/firefox/new/#download-fx, redirects to http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/#download-fx. I also see the link to http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/all/ on the www.mozilla.org/zh-TW/firefox/new/ page for other languages.
We now have a "Firefox global version" download link at http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/#download-fx But user will have to cancel the downloading of "Firefox Taiwan version installer" (it'll be immediately downloading once people landing on that page), then they can click on the "download global version" link. It don't look good on that we don't ask for people to choice between them. It don't look good that we tell user by our design that "I think this (Fx TW-ver) is what suitable for you so I just give you without asking. If not cancel and click here for what you really want".
Hi Irvin- Do you have a screenshot of what you would like the page to look like? Thx, Jen

If not > cancel and click here for what you really want". Why not just redirect http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/#download-fx to http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/ and allow the user to make the choice by either clicking the download button or clicking the global version link under the download button?

Ignored the #download-fx hashtag, the download dialog won't popup automatically now. http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/#download-fx

I just tested http://mozilla.com.tw/firefox/new/#download-fx on Chrome and it still showed the second scene and started to download Firefox automatically. My suggestion in comment 11 has a down side as users will have to click the button on webwewant.mozilla.org and then click the download button on the .tw website.
Still, it looks like mozilla.com.tw needs an update on localized strings.
What my test result is like :cmore, the download of "TW Ver" will still automatic starting once people landing on the page through webwewant.
