Try browsing for cars at the volvocars website. Much of the funcionality uses layers and is broken using mozilla. I listed one such url in the bug summary. Load this page now click on one of the pictures to get a larger view. The website uses layers here to show the images. JS errors to the console include: Error: document.layHidden has no properties Source File: http://www1.volvo.com/splash/preloader.js Line: 20 Error: document.layers has no properties Source File: http://www1.volvo.com/news/newsticker/bottom_external Line: 92
Looks like the evil MM_ has struck again! Error: MM_swapImage is not defined

The site was made by Framfab, so I'm setting this bug to block bug 111657. I don't have sufficient privileges to update the status whiteboard (should be [TOOL][FRAMFAB]).

I'm sorry to report that many of the Volvo Car Corporation's national sites use OS detection to ban non-MS and non-Mac users from using w3c-compatible browsers. See e.g.: http://www.volvocars.se/ http://www.volvocars.co.uk/ The script code on <http://volvoxc90.volvocars.co.uk/covers/frameset_before.htm> says it all. I have been in contact with the Web Information Manager of Volvo Car Sweden, and he claims that the site policy may change soon, but until then I find it too early to mark this bug "Fixed". I'm therefore reopening the bug.

Per, The issues in this bug deal with a specific site, not with an entire corporation's world wide operation. The issues reported in this bug have been fixed. Both of the sites you report are european sites and those belong to a different component than this site. Please file new bugs on http://www.volvocars.se/ and http://www.volvocars.co.uk/, and please assign them to Western Europe. Bob -> Fixed.
