werks fer me too.. WinME, Resolution set at 1400x1050, and 32-bit color. Build
200128. Maybe this is just Linux specific? (thinking image libraries or
something like that maybe?)
Also, there are other bugs already reported that deal with improperly
displaying animated GIFs. Please look around for a duplicate bug report, if
there is one. (I will do a quick search myself)

still has problems w/ the 2001-10-01 linux build.
On 2001110803 win2Kpro-sp2
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/LATEST/current_eit_304.gif
Is an 18MB animated GIF and only cycles once while loading. Interestingly, Moz
unly updates the fram while loading, Comm 4.x shows bands of data as it loads.

Target Milestone: --- → Future
Both of the images display for me on win2k & Linux.
The difference between 4.x & mozilla is that 4.x
begins animation right away, mozilla waits to download
the entire image before animating. The gif at
http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/data/LATEST/current_eit_304.gif
is ~39Meg and so takes me about 4-5min to download and once
downloaded it animates fine.
I need to look through the other image bugs but should we
begin animating right away? is there (should there be) a preference.

Confirmed using Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030529
http://www.banskabystrica.sk/opportunities/index.htm
and any link from the page.
Only few gif's are animated, other aren't. The status changes sometimes with
repeated visit of the page. The number of animated gif's increased -first time
only one was animated, second it was 3. Maybe one day all will be animated ;o)
Everything works fine with
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030612

www.banskabystrica.sk/opportunities
with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030612
I'll try the new 14rc2 build under Linux and tell You the results.

I don't know, if it has any connection with the bug, but today I applied
localisation pack for my version of Mozilla (1.4rc2). But The bug didn't appear
suddenly, just after a few hours of using Mozilla. So I don't know, if it was
just an accident that the bug disappeared before..

Don't know, what mechanism does the bug force to appear, but this time
animations work fine again. Bug appears randomly.

I worked in Composer for some minutes and when I returned to Browser, animations
stopped except 1. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624
