Hi, Thanks for sharing your video. After following the steps in video, this issue could be reproduced on woodduck latest build, but it could not be reproduced on Flame v2.0. By the way, you could use "space key" or "whitespace" to indicate the button in step 4. == STEPS == 1) Launch Messages 2) Tap compose icon in upper right of page to compose one new message 3) Input one receiver in it 4) Tap space key 5) Tap"<"to save message 6) Tap the thread again == Actual Result == - After step 6, keyboard will appear, but the cursor will not exist in message edit field. User has to tap any button of keyboard to let cursor appear. == Build Information == Gaia-Rev 4d5a460d4ff71aecc035bd7c4a58619506ad822c Gecko-Rev 465ab02fc61c94d85e9a2b223bfa236afcbdc1aa Build ID 20140919101050 Version 32.0 Device Name soul35 FW-Release 4.4.2 FW-Incremental 1411092010 FW-Date Fri Sep 19 10:00:37 CST 2014

According to the comment 12 and the original description, make 2.0 and 2.0M as affected. However, we don't know if this would happen on v2.1 and master. From my test, this should be a Gecko issue since I could not reproduce this with master build even after I flashed message app from v2.0 onto current Gecko. Here is the base build I used from master, === Gaia-Rev 77ef35f5429bc3dfe9ca192b9aacc3c0bf8857de Gecko-Rev https://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/7c24470b6b3a Build-ID 20140929160203 Version 35.0a1 Device-Name flame FW-Release 4.4.2 FW-Incremental 27 FW-Date Thu Sep 4 14:59:02 CST 2014 Bootloader L1TC10011800
I suspect this is more a Gecko issue then Gaia issue, but not so sure about which component this belongs to. Peter, could you please help put this into a correct bucket, if I take anything wrong? Thank you.

After discussion with Peter, this issue should go to Core::Layout. This is because, when this issue happen on v2.0, you could start typing on the virtual keyboard and make the cursor re-appear (also mentioned in comment 12), so this should not be a focus issue. -- For some reason, the confidential group was changed accidentally last time I changed the component of this bug, but I cannot change it back. If someone could, please help on this. Thanks.

Should be a MoCo bug, not a security bug.

Putting back to woodduck-confidential group on request of Francis Lee.

Hi Josh, This bug can be still repro on Flame 2.0, and can't be repro on flame 2.1/2.2, on the Flame 2.1/2.2, actual result is that the cusor will be shown after step 6. Attachment: VIDEO0317.3gp & logcat.txt Found time: around 13:41 Rate: 100% == STEPS == 1) Launch Messages 2) Tap compose icon in upper right of page to compose one new message 3) Input one receiver in it 4) Tap space key 5) Tap"<"to save message 6) Tap the thread again == Actual Result == - After step 6, keyboard will appear, but the cursor will not exist in message edit field. But the different with comment 12 is that User just needs to input one letter and then delete the letter to let cursor appear.
