From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.8) Gecko/20020204
BuildID: 2002020406
Mozilla 0.9.8 doesn't allow to configure the TCP port for the outgoing
SMTP server. Netscape 6.2 did allow the syntax host:port, but that
doesn't work with Mozilla.
The background is, that I'm using our company SMTP server (with SMTP
authentification), when I'm on the road. However, there are providers
that block port 25 on their border routers, so I'd like to use the
alternativ mail drop port 587.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Try to send a mail via your.favourite.sendmail.server on port 587
2.
3.
Actual Results: No way to configure that, Netscape's
your.favourise.sendmail.server:587
doesn't work either.
Expected Results: Add a port field or accept Netscape's format.
