redirecting a needinfo request to two people doesn't remove my needinfo request, and makes the new ones from me

Yesterday I used, for the first time, the UI added in bug 1239838 to redirect a needinfo request. However, it didn't actually redirect the request.
The change I made shows up in bug 1260450 comment 5. :abr had made a needinfo request to me. I unchecked the "Clear the needinfo request for dbaron@[...]." box, and in the "Redirect my needinfo request to" box I entered ":Yoric,:mossop" (or maybe the other way around).
Actual results:
The end result was that the needinfo from :abr to me remained, and the needinfos to :Yoric and :mossop appeared as from me rather than from :abr.
Expected results:
Instead, I would have expected that there was no longer a needinfo from :abr to me, and that the needinfos to :Yoric and :mossop appeared to be from :abr.
(Note that I've never actually tested that this UI works correctly when given a single user, but I'm assuming that somebody else has tested that case by this point, hopefully those who developed it!)

10 months later, I just hit this. :-(
In a way, it may just prove that it's not common!
If making the redirect work for more than one target is too difficult, a simpler change in the meantime could be to show some kind of warning when the redirection list contains more than one name?
