I opened a text-emphasis testcase I found on codepen in Stylo. It contained the Han characters 着重号 and 丝. These get turned into mojibake in Stylo mode (even with the style tag commented out)
Not sure how stylo affects the encoding of the *document*.

It seems to me the behavior is the identical between Gecko and Stylo. If I open the attachment directly, both Gecko and Stylo shows correct rendering. If I save the file to local, and open it, both Gecko and Stylo shows broken characters due to lack of encoding information.
The exact encoding Gecko tries to use may depend on system configuration, though.

(FWIW, both characters of "一丝" are Han characters, and actually "一" (U+4E00) is the first CJK character in Unicode :)

Huh, yeah, I can reproduce that. Interesting.
