The urlbar used to be able to be unfocused by hitting esc, but that no longer works - hitting esc with the urlbar focused does nothing.

(In reply to Chenxia Liu [:liuche] from comment #0) > The urlbar used to be able to be unfocused What do you mean by 'unfocused'? Please provide more information generally - what platform is this? On what website? Does whatever it is reproduce on a clean profile? FWIW, my expectation is that with the url bar focused, if you have altered its content, [esc] restores the current page's URL. It still does that for me.

This is on a mac, every website, newtab page, etc, repros on a clean profile. This isn't something to do with the contents of the urlbar. Hitting esc used to remove focus from the urlbar so that you could do things like "hit spacebar to scroll the page". Hitting esc with the urlbar focused/highlighted now doesn't remove focus from the urlbar, so trying to scroll with spacebar just types spaces into the urlbar.

It doesn't do this for me on 56 either. Has this just been broken a long time? When did it work? I'm not aware of it ever doing this, tbh...

Hm, maybe this was never a feature then, and just a feature in my shortcut keys addon...? I may have just never realized! I'll close it.
