No way to get rid of icons on toolbars?

Details
There does not seem to be a View, Preferences, or Tools switch (and nothing in
Help, either) about getting rid of the Back icon, say, to conserve space. Since
every browser I have has this capability, it's a bit startling not to find it.
I promise to slap my forehead loudly if this is a user error.

Duplicate of "Show toolbars as text/icons/both". No head-slapping required. :(
