In Edit - Preferences - Advanced - Systems, I can tell Windows to use Mozilla to
handle the chrome protocol.
Going to Mozilla's help, the keyword "chrome" is not found - if it is in the
application, I suggest it should be in the help database as well! (SUGGESTION 1)
Searching mozilla.org website provides some info such as
http://www.mozilla.org/xpfe/ConfigChromeSpec.html, but even there, it would be
great to have a working (tutorial) example chrome URL. (SUGGESTION 2)
Going to google yields some hits, but this appears to be a research project to
find out what it really does ...

users aren't supposed to come into contact with the chrome protocol, and the
Help isn't aimed at developers/customisers - at the moment it barely covers the
stuff that users need to know.
having said all that, not for me to decide - confirming so that the component
owner can have a look.

I agree somewhat with Michael, but Mozilla is *for developers* so it might need
to be added. If chrome is added, about should added as well.

agreeing with Michael Lefevre. I write user doc and haven't seen the need to
explain chrome: (except in commandline documentation, which is not part of
online Help) or about:
suggesting wontfix

I agree. Even though it appears in that one instance, the chrome protocol is
never seen or interacted with other than that.
