This is a tracking bug for bugs that drivers@mozilla.org consider important to the success of Mozilla 1.1beta. Please do not change the dependencies in this bug unless you are a driver.
Alias: 1.1b
I would like to nominate bug 145099. I know there is related to bug 123858 which has been fixed, but I can see this bug with trunk build 2002062008 and WinXP. Thanks, and sorry for annoying if it is a bug related to my computer :-)
And the nominations are...: bug 32157 [RFE] Title tips (tooltips) for cropped text (probably the biggest UI *blooper* in mozilla) bug 62586 Need Titletips (or tooltips) for Cropped Text in Message Header Pane (what was that subject? - the son of mozilla's biggest blooper) bug 91662 Long strings in mail header cause scroll bars and attachment window to disappear, making message unviewable. (very visible bug - second biggest mozilla blooper) bug 92380 Context menu in Personal Toolbar incorrect when Sidebar items selected (have you accidentally deleted an entire bookmark *folder* lately?) bug 73712 Need Win32 and Linux/GTK icon files for each window (we need icons, man) bug 22687 [RFE] PGP Plugin (e-mail "security", pie-in-the-sky?) bug 56052 Support PGP in PSM (long neglected, but much *voted* for)
There are basic functions not working, IMHO a nono for a release: bug 153052 Forward inline does not work for news (works for e-mail) bug 150036 Message cancelling doesn't work pi
Nominating: bug 153067 [ unable to type text in other applications when mozilla is running ] bug 122765 [ Mozilla loses focus and Z order due to Alert / other dialogs ]
I would like to nominate bug 153220.
What about bug 28385? It was set as critical for Milestone 1.0.1 which seems as good as closed now. And in Moz1.1 since one can have Mozilla not opening anything when downloading a file, this could be really, really useful!!!!
Bug 152545 crash with charset menu Of course, crashs are always evil, but here, Mozilla asks you to change the charset and then it crashes when you do. pi
wow, cant believe bug 120327 really got taken into consideration, that would be really nice if it got fixed ! now fix bug 61893 (Form data not being mailed when using mailto: in form action attribute), is targeted for 1.1a anyway and bug 90337 (URL bar not responsive to the "Enter/Return" key.), is targeted for 1.0 and mozilla will have become ALOT better ! bug 7884 (Unable to uninstall .xpi packages) and shouldnt bug 120201 (Implement update notifications) be removed from releases, mozilla doesnt use it anyway !?
I would like to nominate bug 150036 (cancel doesn't work in mail news) which is pretty annoying and make mailnews nearly unusable :-/
These are the regressions that annoy me the most: bug 153681 initial focus for browser window is often not in page bug 138892 form data only remembered for first form on page bug 123293 linked images bookmarklet does not work at porn sites (bogus referrer)
Regression: Bug 154392 [standard compliance mode] img not displayed with base present pi
Depends on: 154568
59638 reading news/mail across newsgroups/folders does not load next unread message 62938 The message pane is not cleared when the message is deleted from the messageWindow.xul toolbar Both pretty annoying when using MailNews. Especially confusing to new users. pi
some really visible bugs: bug 126826 bug 148598 bug 86319
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
Nominating topcrash bug 132905 - saving file with non-ASCII chars is crashing.
I would love to see bug 139769 fixed. It's causing serious memory hoggage, and keeps people who are running PeopleSoft 8.x from using any Mozilla-based browser. Pretty yucky.
bug 23679, NTLM auth for HTTP bug 28962, Name conflict with unmigrated profile needs better dialog bug 32885, [RFE] Store the user's full name as part of profile data bug 59524, Long profile name leads to no Sidebar content, other issues bug 60304, Basic Auth doesn't work for Java bug 65586, Profile names ending in a space cannot be migrated bug 76783, One button reset/restore prefs (silver bullet for profile corruption) bug 82318, Checking for "null" profile name when creating new profile bug 86319, (large) animated GIF has terrible performance bug 102992, Link Toolbar should be converted to XBL bug 103720, Open in new tab should prefill URL bug 106462, UI support for browser.blink_allowed pref bug 115792, reanimate newsbot or let it die bug 128384, Can't drag link from Mozilla to IE (but vice versa works) bug 133949, proxy authentication broken on https sites bug 135442, save printer settings between sessions without actually printing bug 142367, NSREG.DAT still created on install in %WINDIR% bug 143882, "From - ..." line in mail header bug 144710, Hang if invalid url tried in Open Web Location in New Tab bug 151772, Windows Media Player embedded plugin isn't working bug 152549, Profile Manager UI needs to clearly indicate complete path. bug 16489, Family Profile Password Protection
bug 105556 - You can't reply *at all* to mail messages that include a framed HTML attachment (such as if I email someone an article from a news website)
More sucky regressions: bug 146884 frequent 100% cpu usage with pipelining enabled bug 155431 mail+ssl stalls and kills networking
Bug 154403 - Mozilla can't thread properly in even the most simple cases.
Bug 96976: Alternate content of IFRAME and OBJECT elements isn't displayed when data/src unreachable Bug 68120: Can't print alternate rendering for object elements I think it is the same problemem.
regression: bug 153828 unable to edit bookmarks (delete, rename, etc.)
Depends on: 156774
No longer depends on: 154568
Nominating bug 155402 - URLs no longer launch in a new window when typed in from Start Button/Run bar or launched from a different application.
Nominating some DHTML regressions: Bug 157401 [ Regression causing "frame drop-offs" [DHTML] ] Bug 155160 [ DHTML example completely messed up ] Bug 117436 [ Steady perf regression in DHTML since 0.9.5 ] Bug 153083 [ [regression] mozilla (nearly) hangs on rendering ] Bug 154568 [ [regression] Slider is extremely slow (pre Moz 1.0 performance) ] Considering that the DHTML performance in 1.0 was really bad (and now its worse), these bugs should get a high priority.
Asa: We have a L10n blocker that has already prevented us from doing 1.1a localization, and will again block 1.1b or even 1.1final localizations, if not even a workaround is going to be in the tree. This is bug 142623 No reload of Language strings due to XUL FastLoad
I like to nominate bug 155485 Browser windows w/o scrollbars are very bad.
No longer depends on: 156774
No longer depends on: 104778
I'd like to nominate bug 156774: the installer no longer deletes earlier mozilla installations, which causes startup to fail if you have an older library that doesn't get replaced. I hit this upgrading from a branch build from a few weeks before 1.0; what other builds trigger problems (e.g. whether it happens with 1.1a or 1.0) is unknown.
Depends on: 157638
Depends on: 142623
I would like to nominate bug 21762 and ALL dependens and blocks of this one. I seriously that most of them need to be fixed before Moz1.1. All of us, who spread Mozilla 1.0 or 1.1a, grow group of users who use browser which cannot handle DHTML Interface. And publishing 1.1 and following versions without this is a next step out of DHTML. I trully cannot see any reason for such meticulous fixing of any JS bug with specifications compatiblity, any DOM lvl 1 and 2 bug or relations between layout and JS core, when all this pretty good JS parser is useless in wider view. I'm (as a web developer) really happy that JS2 and ECMA standards are well handled. But it's still nothing cause, i cannot make fast animation with this. I cannot create smoothly animated menus and so on, so on. This must be on focus. Otherwise Mozilla will be one of the browsers which blocks DHTML from grow.
Depends on: 157558
I'd like to nominate Bug #155025 which is very arrogant about what it does to a users desktop.
Nominating bug 155328, which fixes some Very Bad painting issues that are easy to stumble across with the new venkman source code view.
I want to nominate bug 157811 This is a recent regression which makes plain text compose and reply useless. Mail really sucks with this bug :(
OK, forget my last comment. This bug is fixed now, not sucking any more ;-)
Depends on: ToolbarBlanksPage
Attached image Bug in action (deleted) —
WRONG BUG. Sorry. Stupid tabs ;-)
No longer depends on: 142623
No longer depends on: exe-san
Nominating bug 158059. Although the circumstances under which the bug occurs may be relatively rare, it is a dataloss bug (and a bad one at that).
No longer depends on: ToolbarBlanksPage
No longer depends on: 137033
No longer depends on: 91662
No longer depends on: anxioususer
No longer depends on: stopthewhining
I second comment #4 nomination of Bug #122765 which is a regression that has been around since January 2002.
Well, 1.1b is out the door, so I'm going to mark this FIXED. I'm sure asa will verify that fact later.
