Details
Going to a FTP URL (with or without user name) crashes the 11.23.98 build.
Specifically checked:
1. ftp://sweetlou
2. ftp://elig@shell16.ba.best.com
("XPVIEWER caused an invalid page fault in module RAPTORHTML.DLL at
015f:00e73b1f.")

I don't get a crash anymore, but the content is not pretty to look at.

Certainly. If it helps, I've put in a Talkback report using the 11.23.98a build
(KWR12GGI) for reference. Thanks!
Summary: FTP URLs crash 11.23.98 XPViewer App → ss:FTP URLs crash 11.23.98 XPViewer App
Putting on ss: radar. KWR12GGI is the Tracking ID which can be looked up at:
http://cyclone/reports/talkback.cfm?weekly=0
Not on server at this time though. Try in a few hours for Talkback data.

I protest. This bug is a duplicate of Paul's bug from a month ago. ;)

Tried the following test cases using the 11.24.98 xpviewer on Windows 98 & NT:
1. FTP'ing to a real internal server (ftp://slip)
2. FTP'ing to a nonexistent internal server (ftp://histeve)
3. FTP'ing to a server that requires password authentication (i.e.
ftp://elig@raquelita)
It didn't crash --- although #3 timed out on any server I could give it (at the
"Connect: Contacting host: [foo]" , and pressing "stop" actually froze the app.
(no redraws when covered, no commands acknowledged)
Furthermore, the layout of the actual FTP directories in case #1 was extremely
wacky (no line breaks or horizontal separation.)
Re-opening so that rickg can determine whether to break these into separate bug
reports (and/or whether they already are known issues in BugZilla.)
Thanks!
I actually am going to close this as the crash was fixed and open a new one for
the layout problem and a new one for a new performance problem, and reference
this bug. See new bug # 1637 for format problem.
marking verified as this does not crash as per Eli and reconfirmed with Nov24
build.
