This is a tracking bug for bugs that drivers@mozilla.org consider important to the success of Mozilla 1.1. Please do not change the dependencies in this bug unless you are a driver.
Alias: 1.1
Depends on: 104778
I have some suggestions: Bug 136110 (UI regression / 4xp) Bug 56219 (can't paste large things in in Linux, which really stopped me from using Mozilla to publish large things) Bug 4302 (interface nigglets) Bug 151712 (tabbed interface nigglets) Bug 146558 (imap checking nigglets -- probably a few lines of a lock around updating current message headers from the timed biff if the user is viewing the folder)
Nominating: bug 148598 bug 157401 bug 75121 bug 123668 bug 86319 and as much as can be done about those already marked "mozilla1.0+" :) http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?
mozilla1.0+ marked bugs: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi? bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=REOPENED&email1=&emailtype1=subst ring&emailassigned_to1=1&email2=&emailtype2=substring&emailassigned_to2=1&email reporter2=1&emailqa_contact2=1&bugidtype=include&bug_id=&changedin=&votes=&chfi eldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&short_desc=&short_desc_type=substring&long _desc=&long_desc_type=substring&bug_file_loc=&bug_file_loc_type=substring&statu s_whiteboard=&status_whiteboard_type=substring&keywords=mozilla1.0% 2B&keywords_type=allwords&field0-0-0=noop&type0-0-0=noop&value0-0- 0=&cmdtype=doit&newqueryname=&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time
Oh, I don't want to forget bug 156287 (mouse over problems) which is also really, really annoying, a regression for tabbed browsing, and also still shows up in 2002071509.
I'd like to nominate bug 146884 - frequent 100% CPU usage (hang) if http pipelining is enabled.
Depends on: QLProfileLoss
Depends on: 137033
Depends on: 91662
Depends on: anxioususer
Depends on: stopthewhining
Depends on: exe-san
And the nominations are...: bug 32157 [RFE] Title tips (tooltips) for cropped text (probably the biggest UI *blooper* in mozilla) bug 62586 Need Titletips (or tooltips) for Cropped Text in Message Header Pane (what was that subject? - the son of mozilla's biggest blooper) bug 91662 Long strings in mail header cause scroll bars and attachment window to disappear, making message unviewable. (very visible bug - second biggest mozilla blooper) bug 92380 Context menu in Personal Toolbar incorrect when Sidebar items selected (have you accidentally deleted an entire *bookmark folder* lately?) bug 73712 Need Win32 and Linux/GTK icon files for each window (we need icons, man) bug 22687 [RFE] PGP Plugin (e-mail "security", pie-in-the-sky?) bug 56052 Support PGP in PSM (long neglected, but much *voted* for)
Bug 154230 is a regression that causes scrollbars to disappear on some pages that use position:absolute. It has 8 dups and has been open for about a month.
Depends on: 149952
Depends on: 157830
Nominating bug 147670 - the wrong tooltip shows up for some UI elements. It already has a patch.
most called problems I've heared: - bug 142623 this is VERY important, as it blocks localisations - bug 97283 because this often ends as "Mozilla can't handle mousewheels" - bug 3655 this makes it more or less impossible to write valid framesets - bug 8131 this makes imagemaps with a broken image nearly unusable (except you always look at the statusbar)
Nominating : For mailnews : - bug 140599 - bug 150036 Those two are making my usenet life a living hell :-/
Others I forget to nominate :-/ - bug 56301 (add spell checker) - bug 66822 (add rot13) - bug 131164 (improving thread read/unread view in mailnews) Sorry for annoyance :-/
The yucky memory pig PeopleSoft 8 bug 139769 regression....
test
Depends on: bm-export
No longer depends on: exe-san
No longer depends on: stopthewhining
Nominating bug 126826 ['Back' and 'Forward' buttons not working] Fixing this regression is really essential.
Someone (preferably from drivers people, if possible) please explain me if it makes sense to post nominates on "make mozilla x.x not suck" bug reports. I would really like to post my nominates there but somehow I feel it isn't appropriate, for various reasons. I noticed taht, of all the nominates posted there, only bug 91662 has been included in the "depends on" list (probably for another reason). Thank you in advance.
Depends on: 154230
Dimitrios: since keywords were not created for 1.1 nominations, posting here is acceptable, assuming you are much more resonable then your predecessors. Things like PGP are a pipedream even for Mozilla 2.0, listing them here is just being an ass. If you have a serious issue (dataloss, regression) that would greatly effect the quality of 1.1, that drivers@ doesn't already know about, posting here is certainly acceptable.
Jeremy: don't take the tradition of the PGP-Bug everywhere away ;)
bug 142623, has patch!!! bug 119796, bookmarks "last visited" appears in "added" field and finally update notification should be removed from releases cause it simply doesnt work
Jeremy, thanks. Nominating a recent regression: bug 153828 - unable to edit bookmarks (quite a few duplicates, highly visible, I saw novices reporting it in MozillaZine BuildBar Talkback). And, bug 138462 - In wizard, cancelling cancel can prevent further use of Mozilla (it has r and sr) A few recent crashers have been fixed, so I'm not complaining :-)
nominating bug 96877 it is marked critical and has the dataloss keyword. A shame that it is still open after almost a year.
Bug 106708 - DnD Data Object format incorrect has patch and old review
I think the following are really important: Bug 57724 View-source munging pages This bug makes web development a pain. You cannot see where the problem comes from. Simply stated: Mozilla lies about what really is on a web page. Bug 120327 Sanitize extension-fixup code: Don't add .exe or .txt to files names of text/plain and application/octet-stream, etc. This is probably the most frequented bug around. Bug 143881 No obvious way to prefill form. Having this wonderful feature to prefill forms becomes almost useless if it is so hard to access it. Bug 63182 Flash plugin context menu doesn't disappear on click, like other right click menus Very annoying to have the screen overlayed by a menu. Bug 110949 Edit draft destoys quotes This makes the use of the drafts folder useless. Bug 150036 Message cancelling doesn't work This is evil. Cancel is one of the most important features of a news reader. pi

No longer depends on: 149952
I nomintate bug 70213: XP_UNIX DNS lookups are serialized. This is really important for getting a competable browser for Linux systems.
Nominating Bug 153815 -- it causes eBay to crash Moz every time. See bug 159146, which was duped to it, for a specific description of the eBay problem.
I'd like to nominate bug 102797: poor IMAP performance on Mac OS X. We have a fairly safe fix in the bug that I'd like to get onto the 1.0 branch as well.
Nominate bug#150692. A bug has already existed for long... minor bug but no fix...:-(
nominating bug 105292... some big sites like timesofindia.com don't load at all, and the fix is pretty straightforward.

No longer depends on: 154230
Why has Bug 91662 been removed from not making 1.1 suck? IMHO getting corrupt panes when reading email with many cc's is nasty but maybe the fix takes too long to meet your timescales! Asa, please see recent comments on 91662
Depends on: 124269
I'd like to nominate bug 90337. The annoyance factor is high, and the workaround is obscure - my grandmother would never be able to resolve it.
Nominating bug 153080 ("[FIX]shrink-to-fit broken ?"). Currently we print many many pages not correctly (content is cut at the right border because it is too wide) due this issue...
I also nominate bug 90337. Having an URL bar that does not work makes the browser completely unusable. This is extremely visible, annoying and embarassing for Mozilla.
No longer depends on: QLProfileLoss
Nominate Bug 150232 which is a regression and interfears with submitting of forms something that is quite obvious.
I'd like to second Peter Lairo's nomination of bug 92380. It's nasty, easy to trigger, and has a short, XUL-only, obvious, low-risk, and reviewed patch available.
I am nominating bug 149152 (Reduce exported functions to facilitate better runtime search) It gives (according to the comments) a 30% startup time for (at least) Solaris executables.
Nominating bug 159424 because it breaks working applications, and it also stops me from using Mozilla with build > 20020706xx.
Nominating bug 155402. It's a regression after other bugfix.
No longer depends on: deflate
Bug 157830 depends on bug 29856 (well, to really be _useful_ it does). It seems unlikely (and inadvisable) for bug 29856 to check in for 1.1. From the comments there, it appears to be the kind of memory-allocating, function-calling, written-some-time-ago thing, potentially bitrotten in some obscure way, that really needs to hit during an alpha milestone if possible, and in any case the patch does not appear to be quite ready; the last several comments were pointing out issues with it... Therefore, bug 157830 is unlikely to make 1.1, even if it does suck.
Nominating bug 109050 It's improved a lot over the past couple months, but still bugs the heck out of me (no pun intended).
Nominating list is here. Performance: bug 161766, bug 161481 and bug 161842 Layout: bug 160887, bug 161818, bug 161853 and bug 161881 Mozilla-2002080108/Mac worked fine, but Mozilla after 2002080208-trunk/Mac is very bad. Performance is so slow and font displaying is clunky. I think these bugs are regression. If we leave these bug as they are, Macintosh users will leave from Mozilla. Stop the bad situation, please.
> Performance: bug 161766, bug 161481 and bug 161842 > Layout: bug 160887, bug 161818, bug 161853 and bug 161881 Most of these are serious Mac performance and text rendering bugs, that regressed because of the MathML changes. We need to take fixes on the branch. It'a also shocking that we didn't catch the page layout regression for so long.
Bug 161934 Crash: Save as ... for mail attachments Serious blocker. You cannot save mail attachments. And there is more things which will be dealt with in that bug/patch. pi
nominating bug 144388 "Should be able to disable download manager for e-mail attachments". It is very nasty to double click an attachment and to see mailbox:// entries in download manager.
Depends on: 161481
Nominating: bug 32571 bug 47475 (very, very annoying if images are disabled! Has a patch.) bug 103834 bug 161087 (regression, makes cross-browser XSLT development harder)
I would also like to nominate bug 139258 because without crypto.signText() mozilla is not usable for some real web applications. Probably the same will be the situation with Netscape 7.
Alias: 1.1 → 1.2
Sorry, about that alias change I was half asleep, and just typed in a new alias thinking that it would take me to the new one.
Alias: 1.2 → 1.1
Nominating bug 159704
Nominating bug 162593. Autoregistration is not updating compreg.dat correctly, causing all kinds of weird behavior. This is a critical problem affecting many people, see the bug and MozillaZine Build Bar Talkback.
Nominating bug 125987
Depends on: 163598
Nominating: bug #92380 (dataloss, patch, r=) bug #139136
Some excellent suggestions for "popular" bugs (many dupes, CC's or votes) here: bug 163993: [META] Major Mozilla Bugs http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163993
Depends on: 164023
No longer depends on: 164023
Warning: Language switching does NOT work in current 1.1 builds because of bug 164496!!! Nominating this bug as a last-minute two-liner fix. If this one doesn't get in, we'll be unable to use any language/content packs with Mozilla 1.1!
Depends on: 164496
it still suckz, but its released and kind of fixed ...
