User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:0.9.9) Gecko/20020311
BuildID: 2002031104
If I use tabbed approach and open many documents in many tabs in one window, if
a document contains window.close() JavaScript call the hole window closes. This
behaviour is straight forward but obviously not what I expect as I have many
other tabs that I don't want to be closed.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open many documents in tabs in one window
2. execute window.close() in one of them

This is not necessarily the same as confirming the close of a window. What the
reporter is requesting (I believe) is that a JavaScript window.close() should
only close the active tab.
Andrey: Please clarify - are you looking for confirmation of the whole window
closing, or do you want window.close() to only close the active tab when more
than one is open?

bug reports from 0.9.9 are invalid.
We accept only bugs from the latest milestones.
If you report a bug look also in the release notes for your version.
AFAIK there is an entry about this.
This is already fixed...

Verified Duplicate.
Andrey, thank you for this report. This was fixed around June 4,
so builds after that date should not have this bug -

This is NOT duplicate. As Jason Bassford noticed, I want window.close() to only
close the active tab when more than one is open. I do understand that it does
not conform to JavaScript specification, but this is what the user expects for
this action.

Reassigning to Tabbed Browser component; this is not a JavaScript Engine issue.

Andrey, this IS a duplicate! Just look at the title of bug 103452:
"javascript window.close should close tab, not complete browser window"
That is exactly what you are asking for!!!
This was fixed around June 4, so builds after that date should not have
this bug. When you filed this report, you were using build 2002031104.
Could you try a recent build from this month? You should see that the
problem has been fixed. If not, please reopen this bug and let us know
what build date you are using. Thanks -
