When setting up several mailboxes (using the same outgoing mail server) it is
sometimes desirable to have multiple users accessing the same SMTP server. It
is impossible to tell them apart since only the name is shown in the selection
dialog. THis can be remedied in two ways:
1. show the user name along with the server name (user@host.dom, or just
host.dom if no username is specified)
2. allow naming of the servers

confirming this, because I've met this problem too. I had to work around it, by
using an aliasname for the mailserver, but it wasn't easy to remember then.
I would prefer the first solution, because that's very trivial to implement.
changed platform/OS to All/All

Ever confirmed: true
OS: Windows XP → All
Hardware: PC → All

Greting, all.
I don't have the wherewithall to contribute to the resolution of the situation
here with any expertise. I have no real experience with programming, and use
only the pre-compiled builds.
I do, however, use this product (TBird, sp.) on a daily basis, and find this
problem very frustrating--so frustrating that I'm willing to assist financially:
can I pay someone to resolve this? What would it take were I to do so?
Also, in the meantime, if there is any other way I can help (testing, etc.),
please let me know.
Thanks for your work!

Have a look a this site
http://www.chuonthis.com/extensions/
There you can find an addon "show SMTP Username" wich should help you in this
case. There are also some useful other plugins.
