Windows 2000
Installed browsers: Netscape 4.79, Netscape 6.22, Mozilla 1.0(Build 2002053012),
Opera 6.0
Steps to Reproduce:
1- Download the Flash Player installer at
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash
2- Quit Mozilla
3- Run the installer and select all listed browsers
4- Open Mozilla and test the scriptability of Flash with the urls below:
http://www.mozilla.org/quality/browser/front-end/testcases/plugins/flashtest.html
http://poppy.macromedia.com/flashplayer/javascript/F4JavaScript/jstest.htm
http://www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/java_script_comm/javascript_to_flash.html
http://www.ford.de/
Expected results:
successfully pass through all tests of item 4
Actuall results:
none of the urls work correctly
I know that it maybe has nothing to do with Mozilla, but I think that someone
could post workarounds here and contact Macromedia if it is an installer problem.

How many browser entries do you have listed in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla?

PeterL, ..MARCIO'S RESULTS:
==========================
* I have 11 entries.
* Before installing Netscape browser branch I Unistalled all my Netscape
browsers. However I still have 6 Netscape or MOzillas installed.

Are some of those entries invalid? Do they point to browser installations that
are gone? Can you delete the old entries? Do you really have more than 10
browsers on your system?

yes, most are invalids, I have only 2 mozilla browsers installed, Netscape 6.2.2
and Mozilla 1.0

I had the same problem !
I had 3 entries , Mozilla0.9.8, Mozilla1.0 and Mozilla1.0 (en)
all this entrys are pointing to the same mozilla.exe
Flash copied only the flash plugin itself but not the xpt.
i got it from the temp directory and this testcase works now :
http://poppy.macromedia.com/flashplayer/javascript/jsControlFLash/jsControlRootLoader_420.html#
NOTE: the flash installer seem to launch mozilla 2x after the installation and
both are hanging. (i killed one and the other process loaded the macromedai page)

I've been told that Macromedia is aware the installer does not detected Mozilla
for xpt files and it will be addressed in a future release of the installer.
Those behind the AOL firewall can use the Netscape XPI package which should also
install correctly for Mozilla:

The reason for the invalid entries of my coment #5 is probably bug 125877.

Note: very soon, this XPI package will be made public also.

Can someone point out how to workaround this bug? I can't seem to find the temp
dir used by the flash installer - it remains only briefly.

Netscape 7 is out, try clicking this link:

FYI: I've added scripting tests to BrowserSpy's Flash detection:
http://gemal.dk/browserspy/flash.html
It it says no just download:
http://gemal.dk/browserspy/flashplayer.xpt
and place it in the same dir as "NPSWF32.dll".
This works at least for Windows
