Solaris 8 Sparc 1.1b After installing and starting Mozilla two times with an old 1.0 profile successfully, this morning all mailnews preferences where gone. After copying them back from a saved one (prefs.js), everything looked ok, but after quit Mozilla did not start, complained about a missing profile directory, although the reported directory was exactly at its place and readable. Surprisingly, a second try to restart popped up the profile manager, but again it could not get hands on the directory. After that, I deleted the original profile and regenerated it completely from scratch. Until now, Mozilla works again. This maybe the same as the recently reported 'loss of preferences after a while when quicklaunch is enabled " - bug (I cannot find the number). Maybe there's another reason lurking behind that bug.
