User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021022 Phoenix/0.3 Build Identifier: 1.1 Sure it's radical.. but I find mailing lists and newsgroups to be utterly hopeless unless there is a way for me to have threads which I've posted to, and other threads which I mark as interesting appear in their own little subfolder. Imagine: You post a message in a thread. Now every time you want to do a follow-up in that thread, you're forced to remember it and search for your name or the thread title. After a time, this becomes extremely aggrivating. The solution would be to have the option to symlink threads over to a 'preferred' folder, where by default anything you post in would be available there. Also allow the user to flag interesting threads they have not posted in yet. Of course, allow the user to optionally remove favorite threads for old or uninteresting threads. Perhaps this is for the blue-sky project. I would have thought dealing with newsgroups/mailing lists would have driven everyone nuts by now.. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
You can always right-click the thread and flag it important (red)...
Good point WD. That is definitely a reasonable short-term solution. For very active lists etc it could become a bit cumbersome. This is probably a WONTFIX because that solution exists. Again, probably blue-sky.
It looks like this would be covered with this RFE: http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60764 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 60764 ***
