User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0

Steps to reproduce:

As stated in title. TB102, Windows 10

Actual results:

AppMenu resets to being on the far right side of the customized Menu Bar even though it was set to the far left before TB was closed.

Expected results:

AppMenu (hamburger menu) should maintain customization made to Menu Bar.

Thanks, but please don't skip steps. They are needed for a reason.

Expected results:
AppMenu (hamburger menu) should maintain customization made to Menu Bar.

Worksforme on 102.0.2 (64-bit), Win10, survives TB restarts correctly (see screenshot).

Maybe something wrong with your settings files (xulstore.json I guess).
You could try Thunderbird support...

As we cannot reproduce, nothing to fix here.

Summary: After TB102 update -- After restart AppMenu does not stick to left size of customized Menu Bar → After update to TB102, AppMenu button does not stick to left size of customized Menu Bar after restart of TB

If it is just the default button in Thunderbird, it is normal.
This problem occurs after installing add-ons that have buttons.
Also, it is only the AppMenu button.

My guess is that the problem is not with the add-on, but only with the AppMenu button.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. in Customize Toolbar, move the AppMenu button to the left edge of the toolbar (or anywhere else).
  2. install an add-on that allows you to put a button on the toolbar.
    Example: Add-ons supporting version 102.*
Allow HTML Temp 8.1.2, Config Button 1.8, Get/Send Button 8.2.0, Quote Colors & Collapse 4.0.2, PrintingTools NG 2.1.3, and Other
  3. Restart Thunderbird.

Actual results:
After restarting Thunderbird, the AppMenu button does not stay in the position it was moved to, but returns to the right edge of the toolbar (default).

Expected results:
The AppMenu button stays in the position I moved it to after restarting Thunderbird.

I am not able to reproduce it in the Menu Bar as well as Thomas D..

I think onix is talking about the Mail Toolbar, not the Menu Bar.
onix, are you sure the problem is happening with the Menu Bar?

The Mail toolbar problem I reported is also reproduced in versions 103.0b5(Beta) and 104.0a1(Daily).

kiki-

I have not tried the Mail Toolbar, only the Menu Bar. You are right that another not native add-on icon on that Bar will reset the AppMenu to the right side. Attaching image, showing my MultiExpunge add-on icon with AppMenu on the Menu Bar.

I was able to reproduce it.
Please see screenshots.

Is the reproduction procedure correct below?

Steps to reproduce:

  1. In Customize Toolbar, move the AppMenu button to the left edge(or anywhere else) of the Menu bar.
  2. Install only one add-on that allows you to put a button on the toolbar.
    Example: Xpunge 3.0.0
  3. Place the Xpunge Addon icon button on the Menu bar in Customize Toolbar.

Actual results:
After restarting Thunderbird, the AppMenu button does not stay in the position it was moved to, but returns to the right end of the Menu bar.

Expected results:
The AppMenu button stays in the position I moved it to after restarting Thunderbird.

I think it is the same problem that is happening in the Menu bar and in the Mail toolbar.
However, In the Mail toolbar, this occurs even if the Addon's icon button is not placed.

Thomas D.
Please check to see if it reproduces.
If confirmed, please reopen.

Yes, your procedure is correct, kiki.
