running rh8 Mozilla 1.2b Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.2b) Gecko/20021016 test case: open mail composer select recipient type message click send OR ctrl + enter to SEND email Moz freezes. must >killall mozilla-bin (ctrl alt backspace kills X but doesn't kill Moz and moz 'thinks' I'm still logged in) sending mail is now impossible with Moz. and yes, it DID work. I cannot recall any changes to my system or to Moz that would be the source of this problem. The system totally froze last night and the Netscape bugtracker sent a report of Moz system freeze. thank you dgd

I think this might be duplicate of bug 178018.
I have a similar report (on winxp). it is the third time this week I experience this: sending email becomes impossible (it was very possible before!) mozilla hangs, high cpu load, non responsive, forced quit necessary. the talk back agent does NOT load. the only solution (i could find) is to make a new profile and copy the mail files to the new profile-directories (not really funny btw). I encountered this twice with moz 1.2b, 16 oct (win XP) now I have version 1.2b 28 oct (nightly build, win XP). this build has been running quite good, until today: sending mail hangs mozilla. today, the problem started when trying to send an email with a small attachment (+-70kb, jpg picture). here is the winXp error message: Server=watson.microsoft.com UI LCID=1033 Flags=33552 Brand=WINDOWS TitleName=mozilla.exe DigPidRegPath=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\DigitalProductId RegSubPath=Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting\DW ErrorText=The program is not responding. sorry... wrong numbers: bug 177910 bug 176827 bug 172547 more?
The suggested duplicate in comment #1 is incorrect. The intended bug is mentioned in comment #3.
If deleting XUL.mfasl (or similar depending on your system) fixes this (make sure Mozilla is not running!), this is a dupe of bug 172547. If so, please mark it as such. pi
deleting XUL.mfasl cured this bug... phew! I don't want to say what I had to do in the meantime... thanks to all for the help in 'the cure' and diagnosis http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172547 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 172547 ***
