In bug #1667997, we added a report_type field and added a filter to the Top Crashers report allowing you to filter on that field. The values for the filter are "any", "crash", and "hang".
Because there's no data in the index for the report_type field, we started out with "any" as the default. After we've accumulated enough crash report data with a report_type field that the filter is useful, we should switch the default to "crash".
We should look at doing this in August 2023.
