User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.2.1) Gecko/20021130 The bookmark export file is not valid HTML or XML, where either could be easily used without resorting to an underdocumented HTML variant. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Export a bookmark file Actual Results: A file was saved as ".html", though it was clearly not XHTML, HTML, or even XML. A nonsensical !DOCTYPE was given, multiple root elements (and no "head" element) were used, upper- and lower-case elements were mixed, character entities were not used, proprietary attributes were used, and end tags were missing. Expected Results: A valid XHTML or XML file. A custom XML !DOCTYPE could be used, but XHTML may also be possible by using a "ol" (distinguising heirarchy from tab-set with the "class" attribute, storing the name of the ) list to collect "a" elements. The "title" attribute can be used as the storage for the bookmark description, "id" can be used to store the bookmark keyword, etc.
this is a old standard format (NS4.X). And ALWAYS search before you file a bug. VERY EASY to find dupe. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 55057 ***

This does seem to duplicate that issue, but I *DID* search, and I would not say it was "VERY EASY to find dupe" based on the title "Mozilla should support XBEL -- the XML Bookmark Exchange Language". (My search terms were "bookmark export".)
