It could only apply to Unix machines. Konqueror has a button like this - rather than an average user double-clicking and highlighting the whole URL to clear (which wipes out their Primary X clipboard contents) or selecting the end and pressing CTRL-U, a little "Clear" button would be a nice usability boost IMHO. So - a click on the Clear button would wipe out the URL and insert the cursor into a position ready for typing in a new address. This might also calm some people down in bug 188567. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
why not install an third-party XPI ? http://diggler.mozdev.org/ I and many other people don't need such a button.
Diggler is nice... Either that or something similiar should be included. The whole X-Windows/URL Bar/Clipboard thing mixed with the double/triple clicking is going to cause headaches for a lot of newbies.
i should search first but i thought you did it... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 24651 ***
