Hmmm, seems it works when Moz automatically checks for new mail (whether it automatically d/ls it or not) but it doesn't when you click Get Msgs

There appears to be a timer/timeout involved here. If I go offline for a while, then go back online and click Get Msgs I get notification the first time but not subsequently (until I go off then online again). I'll try and devise a reproducible scenario but in the meantime if anyone has any ideas/suggestions.....

I just installed: mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-1.4rc1-sea.tar.gz New mail sound does not quite work for me either. I configured a custom sound but keep hearing the ugly keyboard bell, whether a new mail arrived or I pressed the preview button.

I am also getting the same problem. Any workaround is there? I tried installing new. Renamed prefs.js file and did a new configuration, even then I did not get the mail notification sound.

This looks related to bug 177280 (fixed as of June 3).
