User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030401 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.4a) Gecko/20030401 i have MANY MANY MANY bookmarks. When i go to the bookmark manager, i can sort alphabetically. this sorts them properly. when i leave the bookmark manager and click Bookmarks at the top of the window, they are still in the original haphazard order. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.book mark a few pages 2.click on bookmark manager and sort them by name 3.close bookmark manager and click on Bookmarks Actual Results: nothing happens--thats the problem Expected Results: bookmarks should be sorted by name? bookmark manager seems almost handicapped when you have a lot of bookmarks (i have alot, probably over 100.)
my bookmark manager may be "broken" I have a screen shot of it. When I click on "File bookmark" barely half of the bookmarks i have show up. I can't create a new folder either--clicking the button does nothing. If you can tell me where I can post the screen shot, i will.
The "file bookmarks" bug is known and already fixed in the nightlys *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 77411 ***

Firstly, I suggest you to use a newer build. The bookmark code seems to improve a lot since 1.4a. :) Secondly, I don't think the [View|Sort] function should modify the order of bookmarks permanently. (although a function to sort *selected* bookmarks permanently would be good) If you want to sort some bookmarks permanently, you can try this workaround: 1. Open Bookmark Manager 2. Create a new folder (e.g., name it "Temp") 3. [View | Sort by <whatever>] 4. Select all the bookmarks you want to be sorted (CTRL/SHIFT CLICK to select multiple bookmarks) 5. Drag the selected bookmarks to the "Temp" folder 6. Now, if you select [View | Unsorted], the bookmarks in "Temp" should still be in sorted order You can post screenshots using the "Create a New Attachment" link.
