User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624
Using WinXP and Mozilla 1.4 RC 3, Compaq Presario 905, built-in laptop mouse:
the scroll function will not work at all on any Mozilla app, browser, mail, but
works on non-Mozilla apps so doubt it's my hardware. It quit working last night,
when I was still using Mozilla 1.4 RC 2, although it had worked before on that
release, updating to RC 3 has not helped.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Mozilla browser or mail
2. Make sure cursor is in window
3. Try to move scroll wheel.
Actual Results:
Nothing - as if mouse wheel isn't acknowldged at all.
Expected Results:
Scrolled the web page or email message down or up.

I can confirm that there is a problem. I'm running Moz 1.5 Alpha(2003071814) on
XP. Sometimes I have to actually reload the browser window in order for the
scroll wheel to function properly.

I have seen it randomly stop working too. It's probably not a dupe of bug 20618,
since it's a regression.

Confirmed for 1.5 RC 2, scrolling does not work either in browser or email.
Tested on Dell and Fujitsu-Siemens laptops.
I've had no problems with my scrollwheel yet on 1.5 RC2, using Compaq Presario
laptop, WinXP

Checking a bit more with Windows XP, Windows 2000 and three different laptops.
Two of them with synaptic driver for the touchpad and IBM laptop with TrackPoint
drivers. None of these can perform scrolling with touchpad or trackpoint in
Mozilla and the scrolling works in other applications.
On a regular desktop system mouse wheel works just fine. It seems that the
problem could be in the way that synaptic mouse driver and trackpoint try to
scroll the window.
I am using a PS2 Microsoft (!) scroll wheel mouse on my laptop, not the
Synaptic touchpad. Not in a position to test the touchpad right now. Will
update once I can.

Synaptic driver 5.7.5 fixed the problem.

I'm using a "MTek" Mouse - model is
http://www.mtek.com.br/mouse/espec/ms22.html - with Windows 98SE and mouse
scrolling does not work in any Mozilla App, but works with any other
application. Wheel depends on a "ZMouse" program running with a mouse icon on
my tray. The driver on the vendor website (that's kind of horrible) is the same
I'm running. Any suggestions? Life without scrolling is not very good after
you've used it before.
