User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.4) Gecko/20030624
The Java applet continues to display at the top of the browser window as one
scrolls through the web page. This would not matter if it didn't disrupt the
text as one scrolls back up. The applet then reproduces several times, obscuring
the main text in the browser window. Thus far I have only encountered this
problem in the Mozilla browser (of which I have used several versions). I can
provide a screenshot showing the problem
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open http://news.bbc.co.uk and select UK version
2.Once the applet has loaded, scroll down the page and the applet will continue
to display at the top of the browser window
3.Scroll back towards to the top of the page. The applet will then reproduce
several times, obscuring the main text in the browser
Actual Results:
To view the main text towards the top of the page, it is necessary to reload,
and read or select before scrolling down again
Expected Results:
The applet should remain at the top of the page and disappear when scrolled past.
http://news.bbc.co.uk is set as my home page and has thus been displayed with
each version of Mozilla I have used and with different themes I have tried. I
have tried changing the scroll bar options in Mac OSX using the normal system
preferences, and the additional preferences provided by Cocktail and Tinkertool
to no effect. The problem does not therefore appear to be version dependent, or
dependent on user settings.
