User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030530 Epiphany/0.8.0 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030530 In Linux and MacOS X, through Mozilla version 1.4, the new mail notification sound preferences are not respected. When you select for Mozilla to play a sound and select a .wav file, Mozilla will still play a system beep instead of the sound. In fact, it won't even allow you to preview the sound. Clicking on the preview button will perform a system beep. This doesn't appear to happen in the Windows version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the Preferences Dialog 2. Go to the Mail and News Preferences 3. Click Notifications 4. Check "Play a Sound" 5. Check "Custeom wav file" 6. Browse for or type in the location of a .wav file 7. Click "Preview" and hear the system beep 8. Click "OK" 9. Send yourself an email 10. Hear the system beep instead of the custom .wav file when your mail is received Actual Results: The system beeps with the standard system beep Expected Results: Play the custom .wav file
