User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win 9x 4.90; en-US; rv:1.3.1) Gecko/20030425 I have been using Mozilla 1.3.1 without any problems. When I uninstalled this version and went to install the newest 1.4, problem occurred on first starting during installation (reported as "Mozilla caused error in xpcom.dll) after which a browser couldn't be open. This crash was repeating continually every time (even after a new starting the computer). Uninstalling a version 1.4 and coming back to a v. 1.3.1 problem diapered. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. uninstall M. 1.3.1 2. install M. 1.4 3. Actual Results: the same
Known bug. You don't uninstall all files. When you upgrade, after uninstalling previous version you have to : 1) go to c:\program files\mozilla.org\mozilla\ 2) backup plugins folder by copying it anywhere else. 3) delete c:\program files\mozilla.org\mozilla\ 4) in C:\windows\ delete mozuninst.exe and mozver.dat 5) install new version 6) copy your plugins (all but not npnull32.dll) Your bug is both invalid and duplicate of another one (which I cannot remember number).
