Does this present a short term problem for QA? Specifically, I'm trying to figure out how to prioritize this bug - whether to fix it now (potentially time consuming) or after feature-complete. I know that the console window works on NT, so I'm hoping that it's still usable for QA purposes.

I crashed hard (complete reboot necessary) when I selected this menu item with Jan 26 build on Win 95. If this does not work, fine. But it should not be available for selection and crash like this. gem, how does NT look with latest build.

beppe, my Win95 machine is down, can you have someone check this with latest Apprunner and viewer please. If still happening, I will Release Note for Dogfood.

just tried it on 3/10 viewer.exe and it still crashes the app. You might want to note also, I had 4.51 running, apprunner running and viewer -- with all three running, my entire system went down

I haven't had a chance to look at this bug yet (finding a Win95 machine with a development environment is hard). Since this is a Viewer-only problem (the menu item does not exist in apprunner from what I understand), can we not make this a PP bug?

using the 3/16 build, and using apprunner, select Tasks | Tools | Java/JS Console -- does not crash the app. Marking bug resolved/fixed/verified.

OK, I was wrong - it is in apprunner. I'm guessing that the bug still exists - remember it's Win98 only (and not NT). I think the right fix is to remove it from apprunner, but I'm not the right person to do that.
