In IE6 and OE6 you can set up an automatic call to McAfee, Norton, or whatever
antivirus application you happen to be using.
It looks like this has been overlooked both in Mozilla 1.x and in Firebird. -
and maybe Thunderbird. Are there any plans to put this capability in the email
application and in the browser's Download Manager any time soon?
This needs to be available to email received and/or sent, due to the propensity
to hide code in HTML and to attach "bad stuff" to emails in the form of files
with executable extensions (exe, bat, pif, vbs, etc.)
I THINK THIS IS CRUCIAL. TODAY I RECEIVED 2 EMAILS (PHONY!) WITH ATTACHMENTS
claiming to be patches from Microsoft, so someone has a worm on their PC, and it
got my email address from their address books.
Luckily, I recognized the emails as phony because Microsoft doesn't send patches
by email, but some other person might have been caught in the trap.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. You cannot auto-invoke a commercial antivirus program scan of downloads.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
Not Applicable
Expected Results:
Auto-scan default download directory upon completion of all downloads.
