href="show_bug.cgi?id=52384">Bug 52384</a> currently lodged against the Mozilla
MailNews component, there has been a request standing for 3.5 years for this
feature.
The request is for Thunderbird to try all the listed SMTP servers for an account
before throwing an error. This reflects the current reality of users who are
often travelling with laptops and use a variety of SMTP servers to send email
based on location.
I don't know if it's appropriate to lodge a similar bug against Thunderbird, but
I'd like to make sure that the Thunderbird team has seen this idea and thought
about whether or not they want it for TB 1.0.

It's no need for a new bug, you can see that the same developer is assigned to
both of them. And the problem is not Thunderbird specific. I just asked for a
blocking flag on that bug, this way the developers will look if this is
important enough to fix for Thunderbird 1.0.
