Using, for example, Thunderbird and clicking on an HTML link, or ( on Windoze at
least ) clicking / opening an HTML document, causes a message to Firefox to open
the given URL. In MS-World, I guess that's the Protocol-From-Hell DDE method.
At present, Firefox always appears to pick one of its windows - probably the
most recently used - and to overwrite the active tab with the new content.
THIS RFE REQUESTS, a preference setting to allow alternative opening (2) in a
new tab or (3) in a new window. [ (1) being what it does now ].
Reproducible: Always
