User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040708 Firefox/0.9.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.7) Gecko/20040708 Firefox/0.9.1 Mail marked as junk/spam is momentarily displayed in the preview pane (if enabled) before being deleted (when tbird is told to do so via the command in the Tools menu). This is really stupid, because it results in mail with embedded "web bug" images (address confirmation HTTP gets) confirming my address. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. mark something as spam 2. turn on preview pane 3. select "delete mail marked as junk in folder" from the Tools menu 4. watch the spam flash in the preview pane before being deleted. Actual Results: I am now getting spam about things to make my wang work better. Expected Results: Not getting spam BECAUSE of my choice of email client.

sbock: please don't set the "+" aviary flag - only drivers@mozilla.org are allowed to do that. you can nominate the bug by setting the "?" flag, but that should not be done until someone confirms the existence of this bug. thanks.

hm, I don't get the junk messages displayed in the message pane (afaict), although their headers do appear briefly in the thread pane, right before they're moved into the Junk folder. tested with 2004101306-0.8 on linux fc2. my settings: * move messages marked as junk into Junk folder * explicitly marked junk messages moved into Trash * using IMAP * turned off display of remote images * sanitize view of junk messages
Using 0.8 here, no automatic spam deletion settings in effect. Also using IMAP. I am deleting "spam" via the "Delete Mail Marked As Junk In Folder" item in the Tools menu, and it's still behaving the same now that I've migrated to 0.8. Fortunately remote image display is disabled by default in 0.8, so this is no longer a *major* issue, so I'm going to downgrade it. But it still looks bad and slows down the process (*slightly*).

Thunderbird 1.0.2 (20050317) on Win32 (Windows 2000 SP4), using IMAP. I have a very similar, but slightly different bug. When a folder has only 1 message in it (and that message is marked as Junk) and I select "Delete Mail Marked as Junk in Folder" then the message is displayed in the preview pane, *and* remains displayed there untill I select another message to view. With two or more messages (all marked as Junk) it does not do this.
This is an automated message, with ID "auto-resolve01". This bug has had no comments for a long time. Statistically, we have found that bug reports that have not been confirmed by a second user after three months are highly unlikely to be the source of a fix to the code. While your input is very important to us, our resources are limited and so we are asking for your help in focussing our efforts. If you can still reproduce this problem in the latest version of the product (see below for how to obtain a copy) or, for feature requests, if it's not present in the latest version and you still believe we should implement it, please visit the URL of this bug (given at the top of this mail) and add a comment to that effect, giving more reproduction information if you have it. If it is not a problem any longer, you need take no action. If this bug is not changed in any way in the next two weeks, it will be automatically resolved. Thank you for your help in this matter. Whether or not this still happens, it is a non-issue now that TB blocks remote images in e-mails by default. Thanks guys.
