Jan. 22 build. www.sony.com is one of the worst sites I've ever seen. Bunch of javascript and animated gifs. It hurts to watch it. Fortunately it crashes on my 64 Mb after about 30 seconds of idle time. Seems okay on windows.
Summary: www.sony.com crashes after ~30 seconds idle time → [PP]Jan22:www.sony.com crashes after ~30 seconds idle time
Just ran this site on Jan 22 build on Mac for several minutes and it did not crash (and yes...Sharon Stone does get hard to watch after awhile :-). I'm on a G3 w/ 128Mb RAM.
Added to [PP] list since only on a Mac. But I cannot reproduce.
I can't reproduce either ( we really need transparent gifs ). However if you are using the latest app runner and you click on the playstation link, your UI disappears and when you click on another link you crash. This loss of UI didn't happen on the 2 other sites I checked.
Should we be running the viewer or apprunner now for our testing?
Still happens for me on 1/29 build - perhaps because I have a wimpy 2 1/2 year old Mac...
Inserting Milestone info.
Setting all current Open Critical and Major to M3
Assignee: sdagley → gordon
The usual OT suspects. Reassigning to gordon rather than killing as a duplicate since this site is so obnoxious on its use of network connections.

Setting to major severity due to crash.
per leger, assigning QA contacts to all open bugs without QA contacts according to list at http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/describecomponents.cgi?product=Browser
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
Component: Layout → Networking Library
Target Milestone: M3 → M4
Changed component to Networking Libarary and target milestone to M4. Gordon, is this a netlib or an NSPR bug?

I've checked in fixes for #2133, which fix this bug as well. I can't reproduce this in my latest build.

I'll set myself as qa contact and check this out.

marking verified, doesn't crash anymore
Changing all Networking Library/Browser bugs to Networking-Core component for Browser. Occasionally, Bugzilla will burp and cause Verified bugs to reopen when I do this in a bulk change. If this happens, I will fix. ;-)
Bulk move of all Networking-Core (to be deleted component) bugs to new Networking component.
