Jan 26 Gecko build, 4.51m2 Jan 25 build, IE 4.0 and 4.5(Mac) RTM releases Mac, win32 and Linux 1. On each platform compare forms buttons rendering using Seamonkey vs. 4.51 vs IE 4.0/4.5 using these pages: http://www.cnet.com or http://www.search.com • forms buttons are being rendered inconsistently in terms of size, shading and font style thereon on the SAME platform from app to app, and then comparing cross platform.

The look and feel in Seamonkey is the netscape look and feel. It is defined in ua.css and in not intended to look like the native platform. In the future we may have native looks and feels but we will ship the netscape look and feel for the first release.

Folks, I'll let cpratt reopen since this is his puppy now, but the point here was consistency of appearance *not* that the buttons looked native. Netscape look is fine, but I expect the button and text to look the same on Mac, win and Linux then; when I filed this they were not.
I've just double-checked http://www.cnet.com and the 'search' button on that page looks very similar across all three platforms, using the March 12 build of apprunner (viewer on linux). However, the SELECT OPTION drop-down list looks a bit strange on the Mac. Greg, could you please have a look at that and confirm that it's weird (it seems the top/bottom pixels are missing which gives it a cropped look). If it's indeed weird we'll open up a new bug on that issue; for now, though, I'm leaving this bug closed.
