(This bug imported from BugSplat, Netscape's internal bugsystem. It was known there as bug #336190 http://scopus.netscape.com/bugsplat/show_bug.cgi?id=336190 Imported into Bugzilla on 02/03/99 11:58) I have 450 messages in my inbasket. I was out for a week, and got a couple of hundred new messages. I've been going through deleting most of them. All of a sudden I've started crashing on delete of messages. I've submitted a bunch of the crash logs. I've tried deleting messages within and outside the message thread it started on, I've rebooted NT, but I still keep crashing. Not being able to delete messages without crashing is going to be a real problem for me. Could somebody work with me on this?
I just tried it and crashed again. This time the log number is K4P18VPB.
I talked about my problem with John Friend. He told me to delete my trash.snm file. Sure enough, that stopped the crashing. I had been deleting lots of messages rapidly. He thought my problem had to do with getting ahead of the server.
If you experience weird problems like that, deleting related .snm files generally does the trick. Reassigning to chrisf since this seems related to other delete bugs.

I'm not sure what we can do with this bug in 5.0 since summary files/database are all being rewritten.

Invalid in 5.0, if it's a corrupt summary file problem, since we're not using the same database.
