The customer will just need to use the Alt-D to delete messages rather than the delete key. We should see what the spec says on this.

The Main Mail Spec (http://gooey/client/5.0/specs/mail/messenger/MailMenus.html) shows the hot key for the Edit/Delete option is "Del".

I think Hot Keys are *in* for PR1. If so, and this does not cause a collision with another Hot Key function, it would be nice to fix this for PR1. However, this bug would not stop us from releasing PR1.
