User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050915 Firefox/1.0.7
Build Identifier: http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-1.5rc2&os=win&lang=en-US
After installing Firefox 1.5 RC2, the browser opens with a large blank area underneath the status bar which can not be resized, removed, or interacted with in any way. Disabling the status bar, toolbars, or extensions didn't fix this problem. Rebooting didn't solve it either. I experienced the same thing under 1.5 beta as well.
Here are screenshots of this problem:

After taking these screenshots, I reinstalled Firefox 1.07 over 1.5 RC2 and it worked fine:

I wonder if this may be related to the fact that I have a widescreen monitor (1280x768 pixels). I'm running Windows XP Professional SP 2, fully patched, on a Fujitsu P7010D laptop computer.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Firefox 1.5 RC2
2. Open Browser
Actual Results:
Large blank area in Firefox window below status bar, as seen in this screenshot:

Does it also happen in the safe mode? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_Mode_(Firefox)
Did you first uninstall 1.0.7?
Does the problem also occur if you first delete the install directory before installing the new version?

Well, at least the following:
Linky
Image Zoom
Flashblock
Popup ALT Attribute
GooglePreview
I believe I also had some kind of web development extension installed which I no longer have. In fact, I believe it was the web development extension (which worked on 1.0.7) that was the problem. Unfortunately I can't remember which extension it was and I no longer have it installed.

Bug 318239 says Linky produced this error. See bug 318239, comment 11
This bug could be a duplicate of that one

I don't know. But in any case, I'm running Firefox 1.5 final release now, and the latest version of linky, and I'm experiencing no problems. Whatever it was must have been fixed or resolved.
