This blank area remains a consistent size (about four lines of text high) regardless of whether I maximize or float the window. It therefore reduces my browsing space consistently by that much. I initially installed 1.5 overtop of my up to date 1.07, and then I tried uninstalling firefox, deleting the firefox folder and starting completely anew to no avail. Suggestions? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install firefox 1.5 2.Open firefox 3. Actual Results: The blank are appeared Expected Results: No blank area should appear Bug occurs regardless of what theme is used.

What extensions do you have installed? Do you have the "Linky Extension"? Does the problem go away if you disable it?

I have now cured the problem by completely uninstalling Firefox, deleting the firefox directory, as well as finding the user profile directory and deleting that. I really don't think that should all be necessary though.

Yes, I had the Linky extensions installed. Unfortunately now that I've wiped everything clean I can't diagnose whether that was the problem or not. I will say that Linky's constant updating was a pain though.
