HTML mail often contains e-mail addresses outside of mailto: links, especially in cases of forwarded messages (see attachment). There should be more of an effort to auto-linkify them.

The addresses in the image, which is part of a forwarded message, should definitely have been auto-linkified AFAIC.

Is this really a layout bug? I would think it's a stream converter bug or something like that.

Stream converters are under networking (mozilla/netwerk/streamconv/converters). I'm not really sure that that's what's used in this case, but I'm pretty sure it's a better guess than layout.
