Details

I'm using apprunner on a Win 98 system with 2 displays, one of which is 8-bit, the other of which is 16-bit. I believe, but cannot say for sure, that this would reproduct on a single 8-bit display system. What happens is this: 1 - launch apprunner.exe, load mozilla.org 2 - launch IE 4.01, load mozilla.org 3 - Switch back to apprunner. Because the 2 apps use different color palettes (I think), mozilla.org has turned a pale purple when IE was running. When switching back to it, it should refresh itself and repaint/redraw the window to be grey instead. However, it's not uncommon for it to remain that color. Scrolling the page up and down will correctly repaint/refresh anything which disappears offscreen, but the page isn't long enough to refresh all of itself that way (a small band of the window will remain purple).

This is not a layout bug. It's either a compositor/rendering bug if the problem happens with both viewer and apprunner. If it works fine in viewer, but it's a problem in apprunner, then it's an apprunner problem
Component: Layout → Compositor
Happens in both viewer and apprunner. Switching component to Compositor.

at some point, you should make sure that we are still supporting 8 bit properly. troy has done all of the work for 8 bit support under windows till now, but it's not really a layout issue.
