According to the svg spec, when you specify a url (for a gradient or pattern), you should be able to specify a fallback color in case the url is not valid. If you do this in Mozilla, the paint is black.

Actual Result: all black. Expected result: One should see a blue to green gradient in the top half, and just green in the bottom half.
