(Whiteboard: (04/07) 3jrgm@qlink.queensu.ca -- review (in)complete (reproducible crash))
Nightly build 17.3.1999 crashes when an attempt is made to load the above URL,
which is the javadoc 3-frame output (apprunner also crashes for all other
javadoc 2 docs linked into http://puck.informatik.med.uni-giessen.de/java/).
Re-assinged to law@netscape.com and set target milestone to M4.
Bill, see if you can reproduce this and assign it to the component owner
responsible for the problem.
This crashes the same way when you view the page in viewer. The stack shows it
dying with an invalid frame index (due to a bogus mColCount field or some such).
I think this is an html frame bug so I'm reassigning it.

This works on my 3/23 WinNT debug build. Greg, can you determine if it is an
optimized build problem on a more recent build.
Works for me also...Roland please recheck on your end and reopen if it still
occurs for you. Marking verified WFM.

The nightly build 23.3.1999 crashes when viewing/loading the JavaDoc frame page.
I cannot check it with nightly build 24.3.1999 - it crashes early at startup,
sorry.
I'll check this with the next working nightly build...

Roland, can you also check if it is failing in viewer. If it is only failing in
apprunner, then someone else will get the bug.

Does only crash apprunner.exe; viewer.exe can display it without crashing.

Roland are you doing anything else prior to visiting the pages? I will try with
new build today once one is available since yesterdays apprunner worked ok for me
on NT.

(Following was tested with nightly build 25.3.1999):
- apprunner.exe crashes on startup; no tests possible
- viewer.exe now crashes when attempting to browse ANY JavaDoc 3-frame output
And what do I do before ?
- Open viewer.exe
- Type in the server name: http://puck.informatik.med.uni-giessen.de
- Clicking on the JAVA link
- Cliking on the JVA mail, JAVA API or any other link to a JavaDoc 3-frame
outout.
Thats all...

March 251445 build, time stamp 14:48
I followed Roland's steps precisely, with win98 and NT 4.00.1381 on 133 pentium
compaqs. Unable to reproduce; I am able to load the page and links and view docs
no problem. I used both viewer and apprunner. Roland any other variables to
consider? What type of machine do you have, version of NT, etc.?

The original problem seems to be fixed on 4/26 optimized WinNT Viewer and
Apprunner. However, it takes a very long time to load and I filed bug 5588 to
address it.

The test URL will be moved tonight because I'll update the docs from JDK 1.2 to
JDK 1.2.1.
Please take a look at http://puck.informatik.med.uni-giessen.de/java/ for the
new URL (maybe /java/jdk1.2.1_docs/, but not guranteed).

Changed the URL from
http://puck.informatik.med.uni-giessen.de/java/jdk1.2_docs/api/index.html to
http://puck.informatik.med.uni-giessen.de/java/jdk1.2.1_docs/api/index.html
because the docs have been updated to JDK 1.2.1
