STR: 1. right click on toolbar, select new folder 2. hit enter Expected: 1 new folder on the toolbar Actual: 2 new folders on the toolbar I'm not sure this is places, since I noticed similar behavior in the profile manager today.
Dietrich, you can also see this behavior with non OS X builds? Gavin pointed me to bug 401161 and bug 401011 which I was also able to see today and it seems they are related to this issue. The duplicate folders weren't only created when starting the action on the toolbar. Same happens under the places organizer and even with bookmarks. I also think that it hasn't to do anything with places. Instead it looks like that two key pressed events are fired when hitting the enter key. That should be an regression. Dunno if we should dupe the bugs against one. First we should try to find the regression range.
After I pointed that bug out, I found bug 401425. Seems likely to be the cause of something like this.
Depends on: 401425
Should be retested now that bug 401425 is fixed.
Yes, it's fixed by the patch on bug 401425. Tested with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.4; en-US; rv:1.9b2pre) Gecko/2007111222 Minefield/3.0b2pre

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
