I know that it's NOT very oftent that the user send a body like this...::::))))) But perhaps this could help you making the URL finder even better. Why fx gets the following text linkified: "=KA9=VP````$)&T*HK\LH#PU#$MD@%I,P(X)V#$="

This is indeed weird. Andreas, any clue, why NewURI returns no error for such URLs? Is the scheme part you area? Gemal, please file bugs of the recognizer against Browser|Networking. Mailnews is only one user of it. Linkified URLs that are none is not a bug of the recognizer, but the Necko URL parser. The recognizer only determines the start and end of the URL and leaves the decision to Necko. See bug 19313 for that.
