This is a meta/open ended bug. A few people when surveyed with the question "what do you dislike about bugzilla" responded with: "It's too formy". I think the feeling is in response to the fact that all of the fields in bugzilla, especially on the create page (but on the edit page as well) do not need to be editable when creating a bug. Most people just need to set the component, the summary, description, and maybe a few other things. After creation other than triage, perhaps comments and attaching files are the things people edit the most. Please associate any bugs that help make Bugzilla less formy with this one. Including logging data.

Bug 345674 seems to also have a lot of that in there.

The modal UI created for BMO will be shipped with Bugzilla 6.0. It only shows edited fields by default, so I think this bug can be closed.
