Occurs in version M3-Mac. I did not check other versions. View http://www.etrade.com Click on the yellow LOG ON button in the top left of the page. Error message flashes in notification component. Error is: unable to locate host www.https:.com

DP -- I think you guys own URL parsing, right? If so, then this is yours. :)

Target Milestone: M6
As I suspected, that link will redirect to a https: url. https will land with the new netlib M6. We could be giving better error messages but that aint M4.

janc, could you check to see if this is Mac only please? Mark [PP] if it is. Otherwise, set to ALL platforms.

Following the previous instructions of going to etrade.com and pressing the yellow LOG ON button does not produce this error message on MacPPC build 1999-06-02-09-M7, or on Win98 or WinNT build 1999-06-02-08-M7. The page does not, however, go to the log on screen as it should New bug related to this is occuring: bug#7491

1999-08-12-10-M9 On today's build, the log on button does not link to the new page on any platform. (No error message now, but no linking either.)

Jan this is acceptable because we dont have an https handler in place yet. Things will change once we have a https handler. If you are only referring to a missing error to report a missing handler then that is being covered by a different bug #6700 And so marking as fixed again.
