The New Folder dialog needs some minor UI fixes.
1. Move "Name" over slightly to the right.
2. Underline "N" in name.
3. Add "Create as a subfolder of:" above the menu widget. Underline "C". If the
name of a folder/account is already selected, the text helps explain what the
menu is for.
4. Add space between the bottom of the menu widget and the OK/Cancel buttons.
See Attachments for examples.

Why does there have to be any instructional text (Click here to choose a
parent) in the pop-up widget? Do we
think people won't
understand that they need to click something in order to see the list of
choices? I
would think that displaying the text "make this a subfolder of" would make it
clear what the required action should be.
I think it was for the case when no parent account was selected yet. But, if
there was always a default (the currently selected account, or last selected
account), then this text wouldn't be necessary. Would that be possible?

I think we're displaying that text only when we don't have a selected folder.
Perhaps we should just use the default account(assuming it's not a news account
and if that's the case the first mail account) to do this?
Agree. When selecting File|New Folder, the default parent should always be an
account level item (even if a folder was selected. Using the context menu, the
currently selected folder becomes the default parent). The default parent
should be the account that currently has focus. (For example, if the user has a
message selected which is associated with Acct2, and then selects File|New
folder, the default parent is Acct2.)
If a news account has focus, default parent is the default mail account.
Priorities added based on Mail UE Review meetings:
1. Move "Name" over slightly to the right.(P3)
2. Add "Create as a subfolder of:" above the menu widget. The descriptive text
helps explain what the menu is for. Users were very confused by this item in
usability. (P1)
3. Add space between the bottom of the menu widget and the OK/Cancel
buttons.(P3)
4. Dialog Mnemonics (P5)
- per mail triage.
New bug will be filed for P1 item for descriptive text and will mark nsbeta3+

Using branch builds 2000-09-29 on win98, mac and linux this is fixed. Note:
Classic skin doesn't show the box drawn aroung "Click here to select:" but
Modern skin doesn. That's a different bug, not part of this one. Verified
since this was fixed before 9-21 and was part of trunk when branched.
