This only happens on the Mac. If you load the Ty home page at www.ty.com, scroll
down and look at the animated GIF of the frog (I think - it's anim-smooch.gif).
The Mac browser can't handle drawing every frame of the animated GIF, so every
pass through the frames, one of them is missing vertical lines. Within a minute
or two, it is very likely that the browser will go wild and start
repeatedly drawing a second button bar, URL control, etc., which starts to
flicker madly.
The images themselves don't really seem to be the problem (they're at
http://schist/ty, and a page with a few is at http://schist/ty/images.html). I
haven't been able to narrow the problem down.
I'm changing this to all platforms - on Windows NT 4 SP 4, for example, loading
ty.com results in a few feeble redraws of a few of the animated .gifs on the
page, after which everything stops redrawing. Expected result of course is that
the animated .gifs keep redrawing.
Summary: Animated GIFs at ty.com overwhelm Mac seamonkey → Animated GIFs at ty.com overwhelm seamonkey
I'm setting this bug target to sometime after Necko lands.
gotta have Necko.

The problem as originally described in this bug is fixed. However, it's been
replaced by a different problem for which I'll be opening another bug if I can
verify it against the 1999081108 build on Mac OS.
